Fertilizer - 4 Step Lawn Fertilizer Program

Step 1: Apply April 1 -30th 
With .107 Dimension for crabgrass control. One 50# bag covers 12,500 Sq. Ft. After Application, water into the soil with the equivalent of 1/3 to ½ inch of rain. Dimension R is a non stain ant at .107 rate it will control higher pressure of crabgrass.

Step 2: Apply May 10 – June 15th
With Trimec for broadleaf weed control. One 50# bag covers 12,500 sq ft.  This should be applied when ground is damp from rain or dew.  Don not water or mow for 24 to 48 hours following application.

Step 3: Apply June 15 – August 1st
Apply high nitrogen with slow release (50%). One bag covers 12,500 sq. ft. apply when grass is dry; water after application for best results.

Step 4: Apply August 30 – Oct 30th
One bag covers 12,500 sq ft. 50% Sulfated potash for easier plant up take because it contains no salt. Ammonium sulfate for greening in cooler weather. Watering may be necessary if conditions are dry.

Additional Fertilizers
14-14-14      -      One 50lb covers 7,000 sq. ft
20-1-9          -      40% Organic 50lb covers 10,000 sq. ft.
25-0-15        -      50% Slow Release, 50lb bag covers 12,500 sq. ft
Apply when grass is dry, water after application for best results.

15-0-6    -       40% Chicken manure. 65% slow release, 100% K-Mag  50lb bag covers 10,000 sq ft.
21-0-0          -       24% Sulfur  50lb covers 10,000 sq ft.


APPLY LIME TO HELP SWEETEN THE SOIL  AND GREEN YOUR LAWN

If weather conditions are wet through the summer or excessive watering has been done and lawn needs greening repeat step 3. Then apply Step 4 after September 15, or October after the leaves are removed in the fall.
Applications dates for the 4-Step programs are approximate. Whether conditions may extend or lessen the time frame.


Maintenance Tips:
1.    Early morning is the most effective time to water.
2.    Water your lawn when dry weather persists. Your lawn needs at least one inch of water per week in the growing season.
3.    Keep mower blade sharp to reduce injury to your grass and set our mower at 2 ½ inches, this will improve appearance. Avoid removing more than the top 1/3 of the total grass height per cutting.
